A Mid 20th Century oak cabinet dated 1960, stamped to the back UKAEA. This impressive two door laboratory cupboard was made for the UK Atomic Energy Authority shortly after they were founded in 1954 by the British Government, their remit being to oversee the nation's nuclear research programme.
Solid wood throughout with panelled sides, six shelves / compartments, a recessed handle and brass hardware.
Stamped 'Feb 1960. UKAEA. Staverton' on the reverse. A highly desirable piece in great condition.
