19th Century Stool
A vernacular Scottish five board stool. Dating from the late 19th Century, this antique ‘creepie’ stool has a particularly simple minimal design. Taking their name from the Orcadian word for a milking stool, creepies were used for anything requiring being down low and in a modern setting they make a great addition to a room, for example positioned next to a chair. This piece is built in a robust manner in solid elm and has acquired a wonderful patina over time.
